Our commitment

Josh Bull MP's electorate office is committed to protecting the personal information of constituents, stakeholders and visitors to this website. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) and the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) that flow from it.

What we collect

When you get in touch with the office — by phone, email, post, in person, or through this website — we may collect:

• your name, address, phone number and email;
• the details of your enquiry and any supporting documents you provide;
• your interactions with the office over time, where relevant to your matter;
• basic analytics information when you visit this website (including pages viewed, approximate location and device type).

How we use it

We use your personal information to:

• respond to your enquiry or casework request;
• advocate on your behalf with state government agencies, where you've asked us to;
• send you the monthly electorate update, if you've subscribed;
• arrange congratulatory messages or commemorative items, where requested;
• improve the way the office operates and understand which issues matter most to the community.

We will not use your information for any purpose unrelated to why it was collected, and we will not share it with any political party or campaign.

Who we share it with

If your enquiry involves advocacy with a third party — such as a government department, minister's office, or service provider — we'll share only the information reasonably necessary to progress your matter, and only with your consent. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

If you subscribe to the electorate newsletter, your details are held with our email service provider. We use a provider with appropriate security practices and Australian data handling obligations.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Access to constituent information is limited to Josh and authorised staff.

Accessing and correcting your information

If you're concerned about how the office has handled your personal information, please contact Josh's office in the first instance. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner (OVIC) at ovic.vic.gov.au or on 1300 006 842.
